Principal Induction Program
The Principal Induction Program equips new principals with operational, cultural and instructional leadership skills. It teaches collaborative leadership and productive school climate, establishing a data-driven, school-wide instructional program, maximizing specialized supports, advancing teacher practice and student learning, instructionally-focused conversations, feedback and coaching. Attendees also learn managing personnel and resources and communication and public relations.
Program Overview: A two-year program providing continuous orientation, development, and strengths-focused support for all new and new-to-district principals.
Eligibility Requirements: All principals new to the role or new to Greenville County Schools
Purpose: To ensure a smooth entry into GCS leadership by building operational and instructional capacity and establishing a strong school culture.
How Will I Learn? Over 50 hours of training on shaping vision, building on school strengths in the first 100 days, establishing data-driven programs, and maximizing tiered supports for special education and multilingual learners.
Outcomes: Successful strategic entry into the principalship, bolstered by a skilled peer mentor who provides two years of strengths-focused coaching.
