Greenville County Schools is a great place to learn, work and live. Located in beautiful Upstate South Carolina, it is the 44th largest school district in the United States and the largest in South Carolina.

With a mission to ensure students are inspired, supported and prepared for their futures, we strive to build a better graduate through Graduation Plus. This initiative recognizes jobs in today’s workforce require more than a high school education and is committed to graduating students with a diploma, plus college credit and/or industry certification.

Recognized as a school system of excellence, Greenville County Schools has been awarded district-wide National Accreditation from the AdvancED Accreditation Commission. With more than 77,000 students and 11,000 employees, including 720 National Board Certified teachers, the district boasts Schools to Watch, Blue Ribbon Schools, Model Schools, Leader in Me Lighthouse Schools, PTA Schools of Excellence, Baldrige quality schools and Palmetto’s Finest finalists and winners.

As the state leader in school choice, student families are able to choose from schools of various sizes in urban, suburban and rural settings, and areas of academic focus such as magnet academies offering specialized studies in communications arts, languages, the arts, and science and mathematics.

The district provides offerings to meet the needs and goals of each students including a variety of dual-credit and AP courses, gifted and talented programs, International Baccalaureate studies, five career centers including the new CTE Innovation Center, Roper Mountain Science Center, the Fine Arts Center, virtual school, special education and other specialized programs.

Our athletic and extra-curricular offerings are second to none, featuring sports at both the high school and middle school levels, academic clubs and competitions, fine arts, speech and debate, and various student organizations such as Beta Club and National Honor Society.

Our schools have positive relationships within their communities with PTAs and local businesses that are active and involved, providing hundreds of thousands of volunteer hours each year and millions of dollars in financial support.
