NOTICE OF DESTRUCTION OF SPECIAL EDUCATION RECORDS

To Parents/Guardians/Adult Students of Greenville County Schools Who Received Special Education Services:

The Greenville County Schools Special Education Services Department plans to destroy Special Education records for former students with disabilities who were born in 2000 and are no longer eligible to receive Special Education services.

These records may be needed for future reference when applying for Social Security benefits, Vocational Rehabilitation, college entrance, or other services.

Parents/Guardians and former students who would like a copy of these records must contact the Special Education Services Department before January 4, 2027, at (864) 452-0040.
