AA/AP-Mentor Network

The AA/AP-Mentor Network provides a strategic, strengths-based partnership for assistant administrators new to their roles in Greenville County Schools. By pairing new leaders with experienced, off-site veteran mentors, the program offers a "mirror for reflection" and a dedicated thought partner to help navigate the complexities of school leadership. This supportive relationship builds individual leadership capacity and fosters the resilient adult culture necessary for maximum student achievement and well-being.

Program Overview: A specialized support network that pairs administrators new to their role with trained, off-site veteran mentors to help them navigate the transition into school leadership.

Eligibility Requirements: All assistant principals (APs) and administrative assistants (AAs) new to their role in Greenville County Schools.

Purpose: To provide a strategic partnership and "thought partner" to help new assistants build accountable relationships with staff and students while developing critical decision-making and communication skills.

How Will I Learn? The program facilitates regular one-on-one meetings and participation in three formal networking events annually. Mentors serve as a "mirror for reflection," providing process support and strengths-based coaching to help mentees resolve common school-based issues.

Outcomes: New administrators successfully navigate their first year with elevated leadership capacity, while selected mentors strengthen their own coaching and communication skills through the experience.
