Supplementary aids and services are defined as "aids, services and other supports that are provided in regular education classes, other education-related settings, and in extracurricular and nonacademic settings, to enable children with disabilities to be educated with nondisabled children to the maximum extent appropriate." [34 CFR 300.42] The IEP team determines which supplementary aids and services and other supports, if any, are to be provided to the student with a disability or on behalf of the student. Supplementary aids and services must be based on peer-reviewed research to the extent that research is available.
For Supplementary Services with a specific amount and frequency navigate to the Services section of the IEP, and select “Supplementary Aids and Services” from the first dropdown box.
