District Software Systems

EDPlan

EdPlan is a district software system containing multiple components:

  • EasyTrac: Includes the Medicaid Billing System. This module captures all information required by the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) including encounter information and required consents.

  • EdPlan/504: Includes components related to Section 504 processes including documentation required as the student moves through the process of determining eligibility.

All users of the EdPlan system receive hands-on training prior to the use of the system.

GCSource

GCSource is a dashboard that enables all district personnel to access consolidated information about GCS students. Because GCSource pulls from our district data warehouse, staff can see a broad range of data from many systems on a single screen, making it easy to see key indicators for student success including attendance and grades. Keeping all students on track is vital to their graduation progress and college and career readiness. An important component of GCSource is the Early Warning Response System (EWRS), which supports evidence-based decision-making by providing schools with timely tracking of the student “ABCs” (attendance, behavior, and course performance), three indicators found to be predictive of on-time graduation.

Incident Management System (IMS)

The Incident Management System was created by Greenville County Schools to document and report student discipline incidents. This system stores all information related to a disciplinary event including parent contacts about an issue, the teacher’s referral to administration for a specific incident, and the administration’s determination about what outcome is appropriate for the student such as parent phone call, detention, In-School Suspension, Out of School Suspension, among others. IMS also tracks bus suspensions, truancy violations, and other relevant information required for dropout prevention.

PowerSchool and PowerTeacher

PowerSchool is South Carolina’s statewide solution for storing and tracking student information. It houses all required enrollment and demographic information on district students and provides long-term storage for grades and attendance. PowerSchool is an important data source for the district and is the authoritative data source for the student information is was designed to track. Schools are responsible for the entry and maintenance of PowerSchool information.

PowerTeacher is a component of PowerSchool that designed specifically for teachers to use to input grades for students. It is designed to be very teacher friendly. Teachers can maintain all student assignment and grades in PowerTeacher until the end of the grading period when the information is stored in PowerSchool.
