GSC Procurement Services Director Presents at Workshop for Minority Firms
GSC Director of Procurement Services Eston Skinner recently provided information about participating in Greenville County Schools’ procurement process to about 30 minority, small, and disadvantaged firms.
The workshop, entitled State and Local Government Opportunities, was sponsored by Clemson University’s Regional Small Business Development Center with the goal of providing information to firms and individuals that may have been subject to racial or ethnic prejudice or cultural bias because of their identification with certain groups.
Mr. Skinner shared information about procurement methods, public notice of solicitations, types of materials and services purchased, and the annual scheduling of solicitations. Shortly after the workshop, the Procurement Department was contacted by attendees wishing to participate in the District’s procurement process.
