Abby Johnston, Silver Medal Olympian, Meets and Greets at Riverside Middle
Olympic Silver Medal winner Abby Johnston stopped by Riverside Middle School today to meet with students and staff. Abby recently earned a Silver Medal in Synchronized 3-Meter Springboard Diving at the Summer Olympics in London.
Abby is the sister of Riverside Middle Spanish teacher, Adrienne Johnston, who was recently named the Secondary Emerging Teacher of the Year. While visiting students in Ms. Johnstons classroom, she encouraged them to challenge themselves to do their best. Work hard at your sport, and work hard at school. Practice as hard as you can to be the best you can, she said.
Abby decided at age six she wanted to participate in the Olympics, and by age 13, she was working toward becoming a member of the Team USA Diving Team.
