GCS Teams Bring Home State Championships!
It was a championship-filled weekend for Greenville County Schools as four athletic teams claimed state titles. Eastside High was a big winner, claiming the girls AAA Cross Country Championship and the AAA Volleyball title. Eastside placed three runners in the Top 10 overall with Caroline Duer placing third to lead the way. Olivia Svacha and Erica Gleason finished ninth and tenth, respectively. In volleyball, the Eagles defeated Myrtle Beach in three straight sets to claim the title. In the AAAA volleyball title match, the Hillcrest Rams needed five sets to defeat Aiken and claim the state title. In AAAA Girls Tennis, Mauldin High defeated Wando High 4-2 to win their 40th straight match and second consecutive state championship. Also, the J.L. Mann High Academy Girls Swim Team claimed the state title earlier this fall. Congratulations on a job well done!
