Principals, Directors, AA/AP Pool, Mental Health Counselors, District Administrative and Professional Staff
Greenville County Schools will take applications for the 2026-2027 AA/AP Pool beginning December 1, 2025. The application period will close on January 12, 2026.
Please carefully follow the detailed instructions -
- INTERNAL NEW and EXTERNAL APPLICANTS -- Administrative Assistant/Assistant Principal (AA/AP) Pool OR
- CURRENTLY SERVING GCS Administrative Assistants and Assistant Principals . Includes positions equivalent to an AP, to include Assistant Director, Coordinator, Academic Specialist, or their equal.

INFORMATION SESSION: December 1, 2025, 4:00-5:00 via Zoom. Applicants may register for the information session to learn more about the AA/AP application, interview, and pool process. Register for AA-AP Pool Information Session. Applicants are not required to attend this session, but the content will support an understanding of the process and requirements.
NOTE - The information session is not necessary for current GCS AAs or AP’s who need to apply for transfer or promotion from AA to AP.
Information Session materials will be posted to this page GCS website after December 1.

Current Employees
Internal applicants are GCSD employees that would like to apply for a position. The internal application system is accessible through the Employee Portal > Lawson Employee Space > Job Opportunities

Application Requirements
If you're ready to pursue one of our administrative positions, you can create and complete an application online. An e-mail address is required to apply. Once your account has been created, you may return to update your application, add attachments, or view your application. Be sure to keep a record of your login and password information. All applicants must be US citizens or have a Work Visa or Work Permit.
Application Process
There are two parts to the application process. First, complete the My Profile Section and second, review Job Listings and apply to any job(s) of interest. (Part 1: My Profile and Part 2: Job Listings to Apply).
Note: You may have more than one application if you apply for more than one vacant position. A separate application is needed for each position of interest. Update your Profile and Application as needed (i.e. attaching documents to your profile)
Resume Attachments
Please be sure to attach a resume to your application. You may attach a resume in lieu of individually listing each of your previous jobs in the Employment section of the application.
References
Please be sure to list the name, title, phone number, and email for your most recent supervisor and another supervisor who has observed your work in a supervisory capacity.
Administrative Assistant and Assistant Principal Application Process
In order to be considered for any Administrative Assistant or Assistant Principal vacancies, candidates must apply to and be accepted into our AA/AP Pool. The Pool is open for applications from December to Mid-January each year. The majority of qualified applicants are approved through this process in February.
Experienced administrators from outside the district who inquire outside of this timeframe may be invited to apply for consideration. Acceptance into the Pool establishes your eligibility for any Administrative Assistant or Assistant Principal vacancies that are posted by individual schools. If you would like, you may submit your resume along with a copy of your South Carolina Educator Certificate for preliminary review to Maria Hilderbrand at mhilderb@greenville.k12.sc.us
