PSAT/NMSQT District-Wide Student Sign-Up and Testing Windows

• The student participates in a homeschooling program.
• The student must live in Greenville County’s attendance area, verified by the school during the sign-up process (e.g., driver’s license, utility bill).
• The student will sign up and test at their zoned school.
• Grade 8 students’ parents/guardians must sign up in person at the middle school at which the student is zoned to attend only.
• Grade 10 and 11 students or their parents/guardians must sign up in person at the high school at which the student is zoned to attend only.
• The parent/guardian/student must agree to come to the school on the Pre-Test Session date and test date assigned by the school. Requests for specific dates and/or changing of test dates are prohibited. The Pre-Test Session will occur 1-2 weeks before the test date. Ensure your child’s availability within the testing window (October 5-15) before signing up.

• Sign-Up Window: August 11-24 
• Hours: 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. (No sign-ups will be accepted after 3:30 p.m. on August 24, 2026)
• Location: Student’s zoned school
• Contact: Student’s zoned school
• Cost: The fee is determined by the College Board and must be paid at the time of sign-up. This fee must be paid in cash only and the exact amount is required as schools may not be able to make change. There are no fee waivers for this program.
• Grade 8 - $16.00
• Grade 10 - $16.00
• Grade 11 - $14.00
• College Board's deadline to apply for accommodations, including the use of medical devices, through the Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) is August 17. If accommodations are approved, you will need to provide the seven-digit SSD number when signing up to test.
• If accommodations have been applied for but a response has not been received, communicate this when signing up to test at the school. By September 21, share the College Board's response with the School Test Coordinator so the student is set up correctly for test day.

• Each student will need to bring a photo ID (e.g., drivers license, passport) on test day in order to take the test. If a student does not have a photo ID available for test day, the school will supply a Student ID form at the time of sign-up. 
• The Student ID form may be completed by the school if the student is present and supplies an appropriate photo, as described below, at the time of the sign-up (August 11-24). This form must be completed in the presence of the school staff or a notary. 

College Board’s Photo Requirements

The student’s photograph must closely resemble the student’s appearance on test day and meet College Board’s requirements. The student photo must:

• Show only the student - no other people are visible.
• Show a head-and-shoulders view with the entire face, both eyes, and hair clearly visible (a head covering worn for religious purposes is acceptable).
• Be properly focused with no dark spots or shadows.
• Be an original photo, not a copy.
• Not be altered in any way using media filters, lenses, or icons.

• After the sign-up window is closed, students will be assigned a day and time to come to the school for a Pre-Test Session (late September-early October) and a testing day (October 5-15). During the required Pre-Test Session the following will occur:
• Students will complete the exam set-up process on a district-owned Chromebook, including agreeing to test-taker rules, providing test-taker information, confirming accommodations are accurate, if applicable, and signing up for College Board’s optional BigFuture School and Connections services.
• Students may complete a short test preview. 
• School staff will review school and test policies, procedures, and expectations.
• Students may meet testing staff, confirm they know where to go on test day, and ask questions they may have.
• The School Test Coordinator will email the parent/guardian on or before September 14 with specific details (e.g., Pre-Test Session information, test date, time of arrival).
• All participants are expected to follow the district’s Cell Phone Policy, Student Behavior Code, and Acceptable Use Policies while on the school campus and using district-owned devices for testing. Failure to follow these policies will likely result in dismissal from the test session, cancellation of scores, and/or other consequences/sanctions as outlined in the GCS Board Policies and/or College Board Policies.   
• Students must create a Student College Board account in order to receive test scores. 
• For the question “Where do you go to school?” the student may enter their homeschool association/group, if available, or check the box next to “I am no longer in high school/My school is not listed” (College Board accounts for homeschoolers).
• Neither the school nor the district will handle the student account or receive test scores for homeschool students.
