SC Association for Middle Level Education Honors Two GCS Teachers
Two Greenville County Schools teachers were honored with a 2023 South Carolina Association for Middle Level Education award.
Samantha Slover, a sixth grade math and science teacher at Greenville Middle Academy, received the Promising Educator to Watch Award, and Sara Ritchie, a sixth grade English Language Arts teacher at Ralph Chandler Middle School, was named the Regional Teacher to Watch for the Piedmont Region.
Award recipients were nominated by peers.
“Each of these recipients exemplifies the best of middle level education through their support of adolescent learners,” said SCAMLE President Jeff Jenkins. “While there were many nominations, each winner truly embodies the spirit of our work to provide an excellent education to all students, supporting their social/emotional needs, and ensuring that their classrooms and schools are places where kids thrive.”
Recipients will be recognized as part of the 46th Annual SCAMLE Conference March 3-5 in Myrtle Beach.
