Greenville County Schools’ students outperformed their state and national peers on the 2022 SAT test, and exceeded the 2022 national passage rate on Advanced Placement exams, according to scores released by the College Board.

On the SAT test, the average score for GCS students was 1045, which is 17 points higher than the national average (1028) and 22 points higher than the state average (1023). Six schools—Riverside, Eastside, Wade Hampton, J.L. Mann, Mauldin and Greenville High—scored above the state and national average.

On AP exams in 2022, the passage rate (score of 3 or higher) for GCS was 62.1 percent, which is an increase from 59 percent in 2021. Wade Hampton High had the highest AP exam passage rate of 79 percent. Mauldin High had the second highest rate of 75 percent. J.L. Mann High Academy had the largest number of students taking AP exams (616) and the largest number of AP exams taken (1,182).
