Elizabeth Nix Named SC High School Ladies Coach of the Year
Elizabeth Nix, Literacy Coach and Reading Interventionist at Slater-Marietta Elementary School, has been selected the South Carolina High School Ladies Coach of the Year by the South Carolina Athletic Coaches Association. Nix was honored by the Travelers Rest City Council on Thursday.
Coach Nix is entering her ninth year as the Girls Golf Coach at Travelers Rest High School. During her coaching tenure, she has led teams to earn a third place state title as well as a state runner-up title. She has also coached two individual state golf champions.
Coach Nix has served Greenville County Schools for 30 years. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Wofford College and a Master’s degree in Education from Converse College. Coach Nix and her husband have two children who are both proud graduates of Travelers Rest High School.
