GCS Player of the Week - January 5, 2017
Our first GCS Players of the Week segment of 2017 features a pair of basketball players who experienced success at holiday tournaments and are poised to lead their teams into region play!
Luke Brenegan, Wade Hampton Boys Basketball – Luke averaged 20.3 ppg to over two holiday tournaments, earning MVP honors in the Daniel Holiday Classic and 1st Team All-Tournament in the C. Dan Joyner Poinsettia Classic.
Kennedy Taylor, Eastside Girls Basketball – Kennedy scored 38 points over three games to lead the Eagles in the Lady Sandlapper Classic. The Eagles finished as runners-up and Kennedy was named to the All-Tournament team.

Jack Beehler, Eastside Wrestling – Went 6-0 at Lexington tournament beating the #1, 2, 3 and 5 wrestlers in his weight class
Jaquan Holmes, Hillcrest Boys Basketball – 26 ppg, 6 rpg at Farm Bureau Classic, leading Rams to 2nd place
Quin Byrd, Hillcrest Girls Basketball – 21 ppg and named All-Tournament at Lady Sandlapper Classic
Jonah Morningstar, Mauldin Wrestling – 5-0 at Riverside Warrior Duels
Erin Dillard, Wade Hampton Girls Basketball – 10 ppg, 6 rpg and named All-Tournament at Farm Bureau Classic
