Teri S. BrinkmanTeri S. Brinkman has been appointed the Executive Director of Strategic Communications and Engagement for Greenville County Schools. In this capacity, she is responsible for supervising the Communications team in the areas of media and community relations, organizational communications, publications, graphic design, video production, PTA support, Service Center, and staff recognition activities.

“I am so grateful for this opportunity,” said Brinkman. “After 11 years with Greenville County Schools, I have developed a great passion for the people and programs of our district.  We have outstanding employees who are experts in their respective fields, but most importantly, we have people all across this district that care deeply about serving children and helping them reach their potential.”

Mrs. Brinkman began her service with Greenville County Schools in 2006 as the Board Liaison/Executive Assistant to the Superintendent, where her duties included assisting the superintendent with special projects, communications, and problem-solving efforts. She also served as the communications liaison between the administration, Board of Trustees, and community.

Prior to joining Greenville County Schools, Brinkman was the Assistant/Associate Sports Information Director for Furman University.  She also served as a sportswriter for the Starkville (Mississippi) Daily News and spent 16 years in athletic media relations, where she provided color commentary for TV and radio broadcasts and worked multiple NCAA Championship events.  

She holds a bachelor's degree in communications from Mississippi State University and a bachelor's in music from Furman University.
