This weeks GCS “Players of the Week” features a volleyball player who as team captain has her team fighting for a playoff berth and a football kicker who set a school record, but his greatest accomplishment last week was mentoring elementary students before the game.

Victoria Wade, Woodmont Volleyball - As a team captain, Victoria paced the Wildcats with 47 kills, 5 aces, 17 blocks and 11 digs last week as Woodmont fights for playoff seeding in Region I-AAAAA.

Gustavo Martinez Salas, Hillcrest Football – On Thursday night, Gustavo kicked a 49 field goal to place his name in the Ram record books for Longest Made FG.  His lasting record came Thursday before the game when he spoke to elementary students at Thomas E. Kerns about overcoming adversity and hard times to be successful.

Hanna Henline & Olivia Turner, Greer Tennis – Both won 2 singles matches and 3 doubles matches last week.

Jalyn Talbert, Hillcrest Tennis – Won her singles match vs Mauldin

Brandon Glick, Wade Hampton Football – Senior Kicker/Punter averaged 44.8 yards per punt and went 4-4 on PAT attempts

Megan Goff, Wade Hampton Golf – Team captain, recognized by her coach for leadership and reliability as the team #2

Cole Fendley, Woodmont Football – Recognized by his coaches for leadership and hard work
