Heritage ElementaryThe Cliffs of Glassy residents held a back-to-school fundraising picnic to celebrate and recognize the Cliffs’ financial contributions and volunteer involvement at Heritage and Tigerville Elementary schools. On hand for the event were representatives from Heritage Elementary and Tigerville Elementary as well as School Board representative Joy Grayson.

Board Member Joy GraysonThe Cliffs Resident Outreach (CRO) plans to raise $75,000 to fund education and human services at both schools.

“You’re providing the technology, and the math, and the people,” said School Board Member Joy Grayson.  “What we find is that you can throw dollars at a problem all day long, but if you put a caring adult in front of every child, it will make all the difference in the world. And that’s what this group has accomplished.”

Tigerville Elementary“The new books that you purchased for us were amazing. We thank you very much,” said Rima Dakhlallah, literacy specialist at Heritage Elementary. “We have 49 students who have been tutored on a weekly basis, and their growth has been spectacular in test scores but most importantly in their attitudes.”

“Thank you for all that you do for our children,” said Diane Jackson, principal of Tigerville Elementary. “It takes a village to raise a child, and you are part of that village. We would not be where we are today without your help.”
