GCS Player of the Week - February 11
Greenville County Schools would like to recognize our student-athletes by announcing a male and female "Player of the Week" presented by Ingles. Athletes are nominated by their coaches and athletic directors for their excellence on the court. This week’s winners are:
Jordie White, Eastside High Wrestling. As a freshman Jordie won the region title at 106 lbs and qualified for Upper State Individuals. Over the past 10 days he has defeated the #1, #2 and #3 ranked wrestlers in his weight class and has helped propel the Eagles wrestling team to an Upper State title and the state championship match.
Sierra Foster, Wade Hampton High Basketball. Sierra averaged 14 points and 8 rebounds a game last week as the Generals picked up key region wins over Spartanburg and JL Mann. Wade Hampton sits tied atop the Region-II AAAA standings as we enter the final week of the season.

Luke Boalt, Blue Ridge Basketball – Recognized as a team leader by his coach.
Farris Roach, Blue Ridge Basketball - Recognized as a team leader by her coach
Joseph Hoover, Carolina Basketball – Recognized by his coach for on court improvement and excellence in the classroom.
Allie Miros, Eastside Basketball – Recognized by her coach for hard work and leadership.
Cameron Pyles, Hillcrest Basketball – Led team in scoring in two games last week.
Quin Byrd, Hillcrest Basketball – Led team in scoring in two games last week.
JQ Kinder, JL Mann Wrestling – 24 wins as 1st year wrestler. Placed 3rd at Greenville County tournament.
Daja Davis, JL Mann Basketball – 11 pts and 8 rebs vs Boiling Springs.
Grayson Reames, Mauldin Basketball – Scored 30 points in region game vs Dorman.
Makayla Green, Mauldin Basketball – Averaged 16.5 pts, 12 rebs, 5 steals and 2 assists per game while shooting 55% last week.
Juwan Prince, Southside Basketball – Stand out football player who brings toughness and defense to Tigers basketball team.
Aniyah Rice, Southside Basketball – Freshman wing player with great attitude and work ethic. Contributes in all areas for the Tigers.
Ben Dodd, Travelers Rest Wrestling – Placed 2nd in County matches and Region matches for his weight class.
Meredith Shipman, Travelers Rest Basketball – 15 points, 6 rebounds and 3 steals in win over Blue Ridge.
Will Edwards, Wade Hampton Basketball – Averaged 14 pts and 8 rebs last week.
