In recognition of Arbor Day the Greer Commission of Public Works helped Greer High School students plant trees on their campus. A total of 20 trees were donated by Greer CPW. They were planted by students in the Greer High horticulture program. Staff from McMakin Farms was there to train students on proper tree planting techniques.

Students also received training about the “Call Before You Dig” 811 program. The program encourages everyone to call 811 before digging or excavating to avoid damaging underground utilities.

Arbor Day is officially recognized on the first Friday in December in South Carolina.
