Why Monaview Elementary
Monaview Elementary is a special place because of our rich diversity, strong sense of community, and commitment to celebrating every student. As soon as you walk into our building, you can see and feel what makes Monaview unique. Visitors are greeted by beautiful murals, flags representing the many cultures within our student body, a display of staff family photos that highlights the importance of relationships and connection, and a Hall of Fame celebrating the accomplishments and successes of our teachers. With 84% of our student population representing Hispanic cultures, we intentionally embrace and celebrate the cultural differences that make our school community so special. We strive to create an environment where students and families feel welcomed, represented, and valued.

Our strong sense of belonging continues through our House System, which brings students and staff together across grade levels through four houses: Casa de Bondad (Kindness), Casa de Amor (Love), Casa de Valor (Courage), and Casa de Esperanza (Hope). Throughout the year, students build relationships, participate in House activities, and celebrate one another. Our weekly Roar and Soar celebrations provide another opportunity to recognize students for their accomplishments, growth, character, and hard work. We also believe learning should be memorable and engaging, so our students have opportunities to participate in meaningful field trips, special events, and experiences that extend learning beyond the classroom.
Monaview is equally proud of our commitment to academic excellence and outstanding teaching. Our accomplishments include two Top 10 Greenville County Schools Teacher of the Year finalists, two consecutive years of Excellent School Report Card ratings, two consecutive Good School Report Card ratings, and recognition with the 2024 Beating the Odds Award. As a SMART Arts participant, we also incorporate creative, arts-integrated experiences into student learning. Together, these opportunities, traditions, and accomplishments reflect the heart of Monaview—a school where relationships matter, differences are celebrated, excellence is recognized, and Every Student Counts.
