Why Fountain Inn High
Fountain Inn High School was intentionally designed around a simple idea: every student should have a pathway to a successful future without having to leave their home school to find it.
Opened in August of 2021, everything about Fountain Inn High was built with the future in mind. Our innovative learning environment moves beyond traditional classrooms, replacing walls with windows, hallways with collaborative common spaces, and isolated learning with opportunities to connect education to the world beyond our campus. Students learn alongside industry, technology, and real-world experiences, giving them opportunities to collaborate, solve authentic problems, think creatively, and apply what they are learning in meaningful ways. To build a better graduate, we focus on the knowledge, skills, experiences, and relationships students need to navigate an ever-changing world with confidence and purpose.
Ultimately, what makes Fountain Inn special is the intentionality behind it. We connect students to their community, engage them in meaningful learning experiences, and create pathways to the future for every student. Whether a student’s goal is a four-year college, a career in advanced manufacturing, the arts, the military, or another path, we want them to graduate knowing not only where they are going, but how to get there and what options lay ahead of them the day they walk across the stage as a graduate of Fountain Inn High.

The Institute of Automation and Engineering provides students with a smaller learning community inside Fountain Inn High School and connects learning directly to local industries and career opportunities. Partnerships include companies such as Stueken, ZF, BMW, Bosch Rexroth and Michelin.
In addition, other pathways for students to have opportunities to connect with the community and gain real world experience include: Media Technology, Digital Publication Design, Future Teacher Academy, PLTW Biomedical Science, and Business and Marketing. Students also have access to pathways through the Golden Strip Career and Technology Center, CTE Innovation Center and Fine Arts Center while remaining connected to their Fountain Inn High School community.
The school’s Freshman Success course begins future planning in ninth grade, helping students understand graduation requirements, explore interests and connect their high school choices to college and career goals.
