School Board Honors Grier Mullins
On the behalf of the School Board of Trustees, Dr. Crystal Ball O’Connor presented a proclamation to Grier Mullins, retired Executive Director of Public Education Partners, for her lifetime dedication to public education.
Under Mrs. Mullins’ leadership, Public Education Partners has awarded more than $2 million in to teachers in the form of grants and classroom supplies. More recently, she spearheaded a program called Make Summer Count to prevent summer reading loss. This year, PEP donated more than 200,000 books to about 18,000 students to build home libraries.
“The School Board recognizes Grier Mullins and salutes her outstanding leadership,” said Dr. O’Connor. “She has served as a tireless and undaunted advocate for Greenville County Schools, and her efforts will forever impact the students we serve.”
“It has been my honor and pleasure to serve with this amazing group of people,” said Mrs. Mullins. “You have made it easy to be a cheerleader and an advocate in the worst of times and in the best of times. And for that, I will be eternally grateful.”
