Greenville Alternative Teacher Education (GATE) ProgramGreenville County Schools is implementing the state’s first district-based alternative certification program to prepare outstanding middle and secondary level math and science teachers and is seeking qualified candidates. Information sessions will be held on June 23 and June 30 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Central Office, 301 E. Camperdown Way, Greenville.

In partnership with Public Education Partners, the Greenville Alternative Teacher Education Program (GATE) will integrate content, best teaching practices and professional knowledge within a supportive, authentic school teaching experience.

Candidates who have a commitment to teach, a bachelor’s degree with a major or an emphasis in science or math, a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA, and a passing score on the appropriate PRAXIS content exam will be considered.
