From across the state, the best football players are selected to represent South Carolina in the annual Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas, held at Wofford College in December.  This year, four outstanding athletes represent Greenville County Schools.  They are this weeks “GCS Players of the Week”.

Tori Delesline, LB, Hillcrest High helped lead the Hillcrest Rams to two of the best seasons in school history as a junior and senior.  Tori led a dominating Rams defense to the 2014 Class AAAA Division I State Championship, the first in Hillcrest history. 

Jeremiah Ferguson, LB, Southside High played running back and linebacker for the Tigers this season.  Jeremiah helped guide the Tigers to the 2015 Class AAA Playoffs.

Dorian Lindsey, WR, Greer High is the big play threat for the potent Yellow Jacket offense.  Dorian is a 4-year starter for Greer and has helped guide them to back to back undefeated regular seasons.

Troy Pride, DB, Greer High has become a highly recruited player nationally after guiding the Yellow Jackets to back to back 10-0 regular seasons.  In addition to the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas, Troy has been invited to the Blue-Grey All American Bowl, a national game held in Jacksonville, Florida.

The Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas will be held Saturday, December 19th at Gibbs Stadium on the campus of Wofford and 1:00 pm.  Wayne Green, Berea High Head Coach and Will Young Greer High Head Coach are also members of this years Shrine Bowl.  Coach Green will serve as the head coach of the South Carolina team and Coach Young will be an assistant with the offensive line.
