The South Carolina North-South All-Star Football game features some of the best senior football players from across the state and four Greenville County Schools football players were selected for this years team, making them our “GCS Players of the Week”.

Hunter Dawsey, WR, Mauldin High began his football career as a quarterback. A shoulder injury moved him wide receiver, where Hunter became the go to man for the Mavericks. Hunter helped lead Mauldin’s high scoring offense to the playoffs this season. Hunter will be joined at the game by his head coach Lee Taylor, who will be an assistant coach for the North All-Star team this year.

Adrian McGee, RB, Greer High has played both running back and safety for the Yellow Jackets in back to back 10-0 regular seasons. Adrian’s father was also a North-South All-Star in his playing days.

John Nesbit, DL, JL Mann High Academy moved into the varsity starting line-up his sophomore year after he caught the eye of his coaches as a freshman playing junior varsity football. John is a quiet leader who plays all along the defensive line for the Patriots.

Brian Spurgeon, WR, Hillcrest High is the big play threat for the potent Rams offense. As a junior Brian had over 1000 yards receiving and helped lead the Rams to their first state championship in school history in football. As a senior, Brian again led the Rams offense in receiving.

The South Carolina North-South All-Star Football game will be played on Saturday, December 12 in Myrtle Beach.

Congratulations to Hunter, Adrian, John and Brian for being named 2015 North-South All-Stars!
