GCS Player of the Week!
Greenville County Schools would like to recognize our student-athletes by announcing a male and female Player of the Week. Athletes from all 14 high schools are nominated by their coaches and athletic directors for excellence on the field. This week’s winners are:
Mario Cusano, quarterback for the Greer Yellow Jackets
Mario has helped lead Greer to a 7-0 record and the #1 ranking in Class AAA in South Carolina. This past week in a region game versus Berea, Mario completed 16 of 22 passes for 287 yards and 5 touchdowns.
Ashley Czarnecki, Mauldin High Golf
Ashley is currently ranked #1 in the state by the South Carolina Junior Golf Association (SCJGA). This past week she led the Mavericks with under par rounds of 33, 34 and 34 in her three matches.

Ragon Lister, Eastside Golf – Medalist vs Blue Ridge
John Krall, Greenville Football – 5 receptions for 85 yards and 2 touchdowns
Westley Cannon, Greenville Tennis – Ran her perfect streak to 12-0 in Region matches.

Clara Cunningham, JL Mann Volleyball – 18 kills vs Riverside to go over 100 on the season
Jason Labrador, Mauldin Football – Led Mavs in rushing in region win over JL Mann
