Prospective Teachers Invited to PACE Information Session
South Carolina's Program of Alternative Certification for Educators (PACE) is seeking individuals who are interested in becoming educators. PACE will host a free information session on Friday, October 16 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Hillcrest High School, 3665 S. Industrial Drive, Simpsonville.
Interested applicants should complete an online application at https://apps.ed.sc.gov/apps/olca/olcastart.cfm before the meeting on October 16. Please bring a copy of your transcripts for a free evaluation.
Each year, more than 5,000 new teachers are hired by school districts in South Carolina. For the past three years, seven to ten percent of those new hires entered teaching through South Carolina's Program of Alternative Certification for Educators. PACE is designed to allow people who have not completed a traditional teacher education program to enter the teaching profession, working toward full licensure while teaching in their content area.
For more information, please contact Laura Covington, Team Leader for Alternative Licensure at the State Department of Education, email@example.com.
