Sterling School Team to Compete for Battle of the Brains Championship

Sterling School Team to Compete for Battle of the Brains ChampionshipSterling School will compete against Granard Middle School for the Battle of the Brains Championship on Thursday, March 20 at Chapman Center in Spartanburg. Leading up to the championship round, the Sterling School team was victorious over Carver, Greer, Boiling Springs, and Hughes Middle schools.

Sterling School team members are seventh graders Anthony Cinquemani, Arnav Lal, Ashlyn Cooper, Sara Landmesser, and Sabrina Manji. Eighth grade team members are Vignesh Rajmohan, Jack Zix, Dylan Sham, Quinn Divers, and James Crowley. The team is coached by John Burdick.

Battle of the Brains is an awareness competition hosted by the program's founder and mentor, Bill Drake of WOLT 103.3 FM. Battle of the Brains is a competition of middle school students from Upstate schools who go head-to-head to answer on-the-spot questions.

The top eight teams, called the Elite 8, compete for prize money and the championship. The winning team will receive $1,000 and the first runner-up will receive $500.
