Greenville Elks Club DonationGreenville County Schools would like to thank the Greenville Elks Lodge #858 and the Music Club of Greenville for working together to award $3,367 in grants to four school’s music programs.

The funds were awarded to the music teachers at Thomas E. Kerns Elementary, Alexander Elementary, E. North Street Academy and Northwest Middle schools. The grants are specifically designated to purchase new and improved music instruments for students.

“This is the second year of the partnership with the Greenville Elks Lodge," said Beth Braswell, Fundraising Chairman for The Music Club of Greenville. "It was evident from the beginning that the Elks Lodge wanted to make a big impact in the schools with their donation and they went the extra mile to understand how they could best make a difference in the lives of these young students.”

“As important as reading, writing and math are to the success and growth of our youth, the Greenville Elks believe a well-rounded education includes the arts,” said Greenville Elks Lodge Past-President and Trustee David Loudin. “That’s why we believe contributing $3,367 to the music programs of these four Greenville County schools is so important. We look forward to a long and rewarding relationship with The Music Club of Greenville and the music programs of the Greenville County Schools.”
