Hillcrest Middle’s Susan Dicey Receives Cornetet Award
Susan Dicey, media specialist at Hillcrest Middle School, has received a Lucile Cornetet Individual Award for professional development from The Delta Kappa Gamma Educational Foundation.
The award will enable Mrs. Dicey to attend the American Association of School Librarians 16th National Conference and Exhibition in Hartford, Connecticut in November. The conference includes networking with other media specialists, meet and greet authors, and educational and school tours.
“This award will allow me to receive information to improve my work in the media center and to update my skills,” Mrs. Dicey said. The Foundation awards approximately $50,000 annually to outstanding educators to enable them to attend professional activities in their respective fields.
A bequest to The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International from the Lucile Cornetet estate was the basis for establishing the Lucile Cornetet Professional Development Fund in 2005. The Educational Foundation supports and encourages intercultural understanding and educational excellence.
