Sterling Students Qualify for National Competition

Five Sterling School seventh graders qualified for the National History Day Competition after achieving success at the NHS-South Carolina competition. They are McKinley Riddle and Grace Mills, 1st Place, Junior Group Exhibit: "Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire"; Paul Windsor and Vignesh Rajmahon, 2nd Place, Junior Group Exhibit: "The Sky's the Limit - The Wright Brothers"; and Shona Fitzer, 2nd Place, Junior Individual Documentary: "Surrealism." In addition, Joseph Boen's Junior Historical Paper, "The Russo-Japanese War," won third place and a special award as Outstanding Entry on World History. The students will compete in Washington, D.C. in June.  Their teacher is Martha Bohnenberger.
