Bethel Elementary and Hughes Middle Academy were recently recognized at the Safe and Healthy Kids Banquet. Bethel Elementary selected as the 2013 Elementary Healthy School of the Year. The school received a large banner to display in their school and a monetary award of $1,250. These funds will be spent on special projects related to health, fitness, and wellness.

Hughes Academy was recognized as the 2013 Middle School of the Year. The CATCH team paired with the Livewell committee to submit a list of positive changes to the school environment for the next school year. Hughes’ organic garden was mentioned as a positive activity designed for students. The CATCH team and Livewell committee will work together to determine how to use the $1,250 award.
