Three teams of students from Eastside High School were recipients of college scholarships from Junior Achievement of Upstate South Carolina. The winners were selected based on the results of the JA Titan Program that introduced high school students to critical economics and management decisions through an online interactive simulation. Junior Achievement volunteers delivered this program to the high school students prior to the competition.

The culminating competitive simulation, held at Clemson at the Falls last month, placed each student in the CEO seat to help increase understanding of business while competing for college scholarships. Students in teams of three or four made key decisions about pricing, production, research and development, capital investment and marketing while operating their own virtual business. Each team was challenged to outperform the competition in profit, sales and market share with the support of volunteer mentors.

Other schools that participated were Greenville High School, Wade Hampton High School and Carolina High School and Academy.
