Dr. Scott Turner, Deputy Superintendent
Dr. Scott Turner returned to the position of Deputy Superintendent after holding it from 2019 to 2022. Prior to joining GCS, Dr. Turner served for 15 years as Superintendent of Spartanburg District Five, following 17 years as a teacher, Assistant Principal, and Principal in Spartanburg and Lexington Counties. He served as a full-time professor at Anderson University before returning to GCS as an Employee Relations Representative in May of 2024. Dr. Turner’s contributions were instrumental in the district’s navigation of the COVID-19 pandemic, and he greatly advanced efforts to bring coordination and cohesion to the principal leadership and coaching model.
