Michelle Michael Recognized by State Career Tech Association
Congratulations to Golden Strip Career Center Assistant Director Michelle Michael for receiving the 2020 South Carolina ACTE Administrator of the Year Award! The award is presented annually by the South Carolina Association of Career Technology (SCACT). Recipients of this award have made significant accomplishments and innovations, contributions to the CTE community, SCACTE and other organizations.
Mrs. Michael’s extensive knowledge and passion for Career and Technical Education as both a teacher and administrator make her a highly valued asset to the school, district, and state. She works with tireless enthusiasm to prepare and support all staff members. The majority of instructors come directly from jobs in industry with no teaching experience. Mrs. Michael is an incredible mentor for these new teachers, providing expertise, advice and direction. She creates and presents specific professional development based on district and state requirements as well as the current needs of teachers.
In addition, Mrs. Michael spends countless professional and personal hours directing career and technology student organizations, coordinating student conferences, organizing student celebrations, serving as the school webmaster, social media expert, 504 Coordinator and acts as the School Safety Coordinator. Her professionalism exceeds expectations and her dedication to the success of students is driven by her love of the profession and all it encompasses.
