Nearly 400 candidates participated in today’s Shining Stars Teacher Recruitment event hosted by the Human Resources Department. The general session included a welcome by Superintendent Dr. Burke Royster and remarks from Jil Littlejohn, Mayor Pro Tem, Carlos Phillips, President of the Greenville Chamber, John Willis, Manager of the TD Center, and Matt Tebbetts, Vice President of the Greenville Federal Credit Union.

Candidates were given opportunities to meet principals and interview for available positions as well as enjoy a career fair featuring information about every GCS school and center. They also had the chance to win prizes donated by area businesses.

Greenville County Schools expects to hire more than 450 teachers to open the 2017-18 school year. Our district serves nearly 76,000 students in 101 locations including elementary, middle, and high schools as well as child development centers and career centers.
