Wade Hampton Honors Alumni
Wade Hampton High School and the Alumni Association announces the installation of seven Alumni into the Legion of Honor on October 7, 2016.
Honorees are: Kenneth L. Childs, ’62, Lawyer, Advocate, Educator; M. Jimmie Killingsworth, ’70, Educator, Musician, author; Clyde C. Mayes, Jr., ’71, Athlete, Mentor, Civic Leader; Steven H. Owings, ’71, Philanthropist, Mentor, Business Leader; Deb Richardson-Moore, ’72, Pastor, Author, Social Advocate; Kathy Killian Noe, ’75, Visionary, Pastor, Author; Ray A. Lattimore, ’78, Entrepreneur, Community Leader, Mentor.
The Legion of Honor was established in 2008 by the Alumni Association to recognize alumni for their personal and professional achievements. Students, teachers, administrators and special guests, including Dr. Burke Royster, Greenville Co. School Superintendent, were invited to an assembly to recognize and honor the new class of inductees. Guest speaker was Brig. Gen (ret.) James C. Walker.
