Career Center Hosts Spa Day
The spa is open to the public. Haircuts and styles are just $5.00, manicures and facials are just $4.00. The spa is a chance for students to work on their technique and also their customer service.
“The kids are very excited to be able to work on the public because it is something they don’t get a lot of in the classroom. They know each other and work on each other over and over again, they know each other’s hands and there is nothing new to discover. Also having them understand that the customer needs to lead the conversation. I have been teaching them don’t talk too much, if your client doesn’t want to hear conversation you need to get a feel for what your clients wants and needs are,” said Nail Tech teacher Chonda Mayes.
These are skills students can’t master on a mannequin. Teachers are encouraging you to treat yourself to teach someone else.
