Joe Blizzard from Roper Mountain Science Center and Serena Cox from Dr. Phinnize J. Fisher Middle School recently participated in the 2015 Honeywell Green Boot Camp in San Diego.
These teachers spent one week learning with 50 teachers from 12 countries and 30 other states. Honeywell’s Green Boot Camp teaches middle school teachers how to turn their classrooms into fertile ground in which ideas about sustainability can thrive.
Honeywell Green Boot Camp is a professional development program designed for teachers who want to learn new and innovative techniques for integrating topics such as energy conservation, climate change and renewable resources into the classroom. During the workshop, teachers learn how to inspire students to become more environmentally aware and are equipped with tools and materials to help them deliver the lessons in relevant, impactful ways. Honeywell Hometown Solutions, the company’s corporate citizenship initiative, paid for tuition, room and board.
