Engineer South Carolina’s Future!
Students and Teachers Needed
The South Carolina Governor’s School for Science and Math, along with Greenville County Schools, will host CREATEng, a one-of-a-kind engineering and design-based thinking experience, to rising eighth and ninth graders in the Upstate. CREATEng will be held July 13-16, 2015 from 8:30 am – 4:00 pm at Greenville High Academy, 1 Vardry Street, Greenville.
Students will engage in team-based, problem-based challenges like designing blades for a wind turbine, constructing a parachute, building a solar-powered s’mores cooker, and more!
CREATEng Upstate is looking for dynamic teachers and students to participate.
- Teachers with experience in engineering or engineering design process instruction are preferred. Teachers should apply online at www.scgssm.org. Application deadline is March 27. Training will be held Saturday, May 9 or Saturday, June 6. All instructors must attend one of these trainings. Teacher Flyer
- Rising eighth and ninth graders in Greenville County can apply online at www.scgssm.org. Early bird registration ends April 13; application deadline is May 18.
- Cost is $250 per student; early bird registration is $220. This includes lunches, snacks, and field trips. Scholarships are available. Student Flyer
