August will not only bring current students and teachers back to Berea High School but also former students, faculty, and others friends of the school. An All-Alumni BHS Reunion will be held Saturday afternoon, August 23, from 2:30 to 5:30 pm at the school, 201 Burdine Drive.

Registration forms are available on the committee’s Facebook page (Berea Alumni Reunion) and can also be obtained by contacting the committee at bereaalumni@aol.com. Deadline for submission of registration forms is Friday, July 18.

Organized by a committee of alumni, the event is open to students from every decade who attended Berea as well as to former staff, coaches, and administrators. Other supporters of the school are also encouraged to attend.

Exhibits and videos highlighting Berea’s rich history will be included as part of the afternoon’s agenda. The primary focus, according to Sharon Davenport Mahaffey (Class of ’66) and one of the organizers of the reunion, is for alumni and other friends of the school to have the opportunity to reconnect with classmates and to meet others in the Bulldog family.

Berea’s roots as a school in the northwest part of Greenville County go back to the nineteenth century. It officially became a high school in 1911 and celebrated its centennial three years ago.
