Students in Tim Brown’s theatre class at Travelers Rest High had the exciting experience of creating a real theatrical production, thanks to the Peace Center and Roundabout Theatre Company. With instruction from the cast of Anything Goes, 50 students explored how acting, directing, set, lighting, and costumes contribute to the overall meaning of a piece of theatre. They spent the day with 18 certified teaching artists from the cast of Anything Goes, currently on stage at the Peace Center. Students were introduced to their roles in set design, costumes, lighting and sound, stage managers, directors, actors, and marketing staff. The process included text analysis, design concept meetings and rehearsals. The performers from Anything Goes have taught 444 classes to students nationwide in 12 states and 14 cities.
