2012 End-of-Course Exam Results Released
Greenville County Schools posted an increase in passage rates on the End-of-Course exams for students in Biology 1 (from 75.5% in 2011 to 81.4% in 2012) and U.S. History (from 59.8% in 2011 to 65.7% in 2012), while passage rates for students enrolled in English 1 and Algebra 1 dipped slightly from 2011 to 2012. EOCEP examinations count 20% of a student’s final grades in the course.
- Passage rates among all middle school students taking Algebra 1 and English 1 were higher than the state and district averages.
- Greenville County Schools’ students scored higher than the state average on ALL End-of-Course tests.
- New for 2012: End-of-Course exam scores in Biology 1 and U.S. History were used in the calculation of high schools’ and districts’ AYP grades (previous year’s mean scale score).
- EOCEP exam scores are used to calculate middle school and district Absolute Ratings for School Report Cards and exam passage rates are used to calculate high school and district Absolute Ratings for School Report Cards.
