Hunter Fridy Honored as Friend of School Social Work
Summit Drive Elementary Attendance Clerk Hunter Fridy received the Friend of School Social Worker Award from South Carolina Association of School Social Workers (SCASSW). Ms. Fridy was selected for this state award based on her dedication to supporting and responding to the daily problems faced by students and families and by taking risks to provide needed services to these families. Students, staff, and families who enter Summit Drive Elementary are truly blessed to have Hunter welcome them every morning with her compassion and generosity that extends to everyone who is a part of Summit Drive Elementary.
“Mrs. Fridy consistently notices some of the details most of us would miss on a busy day – a student who regularly comes in late and hungry; one that may be in need of clothing or is experiencing family difficulties; and most of all, a student who just needs a hug,” said principal Dr. Megan Mitchell-Hoefer.
