A full-time substitute teacher from Bryson Middle School has been honored with a GCS Miracle Workers Award for saving the life of a 6th grade student who choked on a piece of candy.

Julie Gaitor received the award during Tuesday’s Board of Trustees meeting. Gaitor, who has a medical background, saved the student by administering the abdominal thrust, dislodging the candy from the child’s throat.  Well done, Mrs. Gaitor!
