TR High’s Erin Keen Named Region 2 AAA Athletic Director of the Year
Travelers Rest High Athletic Director and Physical Education Teacher Erin Keen has been recognized as Region 2 AAA Athletic Director of the Year by the South Carolina High School League.
Keen says one program that has been beneficial for TR High student athletes is Power Hour, an hour-long lunch period where students who need extra help can get tutoring. “Teachers can assign academic overtime if their students need extra help. Our coaches take advantage of this opportunity and encourage athletes to attend these sessions,” she said.
Keen supports her school’s athletic teams by attending every athletic event she can. “In the fall and winter I go to the away games. I think they know that I’m watching the games, cheering for them, and that I’m on board with them and with what the coaches are doing,” she said.
Coach Keen has served Travelers Rest High for ten years as a teacher, assistant athletic director, and athletic director.
