Pleasantburg Rotary Club Presents $5,000 Check to GCS
Dr. Eric Baker, president of the Pleasantburg Rotary Club, and Rotarian Susan Hughes presented GCS Superintendent Burke Royster and Board Member Lynda Leventis-Wells with a check for $5,000. The Rotary donates $5,000 annually to Greenville County Schools for startup operational costs of Spring Sing.
Also, three GCS music teachers were named Honorary Rotarians. They are Lorraine Paxton from Fork Shoals School, Tim Brezeale from Lakeview Middle School, and Vanessa Rhodes from Mauldin Middle School.
Spring Sing offers elementary and middle school students from across Greenville County the opportunity to perform quality choral music in a state-of-the-art facility, The Peace Center. The event provides students with a meaningful performance experience and helps underscore the value of the performing arts in the community.
