Congratulations on Your Retirement!
Monty Powell, Master Foreman for Area 2 Schools, retired from Greenville County Schools on June 30, 2014 after 42 years of dedicated service. Monty served schools across the county, including his most recent assignment in the northern area of Greenville County. In every school and on every job assignment, Monty always made student safety his number one priority.
Monty began his career with GCS in 1971 and earned a degree in HVAC from Greenville Tech in 1972. He developed an extensive working knowledge of plumbing, electricity, HVAC, refrigeration, scheduling, office and field work, and supervision.
During his tenure, he served on the district’s Crisis Response Team, Snow Patrol, and the Playground Safety Team, as well as provided support for students, teachers, and staff in many other areas. His smiling face and outgoing personality will missed by everyone in Greenville County Schools.
