Tooth Tales for Children

Tooth Tales for Children Golden Strip Career Technology Center has partnered with Bon Secours Saint Francis Health System to promote healthy dental hygiene for children in our community. Tooth Tales is an educational program for preschool and elementary age children that teaches a hands-on approach to oral health. It uses child friendly life size toothpaste, toothbrush, floss and dental puppets as hands on visual aid to educate children on the importance of brushing your teeth every day. Story time, puzzles, a video, coloring sheets and dialogue complete the 30 minute Tooth Tales Program. Golden Strip CC students visited Welcome Elementary School and spoke to approximately 120 kindergartners and teachers, as well as about 300 students 4K through 3rd grade at Alexander Elementary School. Those students who completed the process of volunteering with Bon Secours St. Francis Health System are now ready to be volunteers this summer in the Teen Volunteer Program.
